Arctic Gateway Group LP (AGG) is an Indigenous and northern communities-owned transportation and logistics company headquartered on Treaty 1 Territory in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Through our operating companies, Hudson Bay Railway Corp. (HBR), Hudson Bay Port Corp. (HBPC) and the Churchill Marine Tank Farm Corp. (CMTF), we provide transportation and logistical support to a growing variety of customers and industries.
Our operations are geographically dispersed throughout Northern Manitoba with several remote locations and employees.
Under the direction of the Vice President, Corporate Services, and working with senior leaders at all levels within Arctic Gateway Group (AGG), as well as external organizations and individuals, the Business and Pricing Analyst at AGG will play a crucial role in the entire supply chain process, including engagement in the design, planning, execution, control and supervision of supply chain activities from initial assessment to procurement to delivery. This includes all functions within the supply chain: purchasing, operations, logistics, resource management and workflow. Key objectives include building a competitive logistics and pricing infrastructure, leveraging logistics (whether within Canada or internationally) and continually measuring performance with the objective of creating value. Additional duties will include strategic technical advice on the implementation of AGG’s Business Plan and future planning & expansion efforts.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to supply chain operations, including transportation modes
(road, rail, and sea).
• Conduct economic analysis and ROI on capital projects and investments.
• Break down analyses and recommendations to key issues and decision points for review and discussion for
Senior Executive level.
• Prepare regular reports and dashboards to communicate performance metrics and identify trends.
• Analyze and develop pricing and pricing strategy across AGG group of companies.
• Analyze and provide recommendations for various business development opportunities and commercial
initiatives.
• Support the continued development and evolution of AGG’s Business Plan.
• Apply expert supply chain knowledge to recommend best practices for AGG in creating the company’s supply
chain strategy.
• Ensure supply chain processes meet all legal and ethical requirements and standards.
• Conduct research, forecast price trends to determine best value and delivery schedules and utilize this
knowledge/information to negotiate contracts.
• Conduct related audits, produce reports and statistics to review performance and to identify cost-
savings/efficiency possibilities.
• Identify new opportunities for AGG and make recommendations to Senior Management.
• Prepare forecasts, key performance metrics and communicate this information on a regular basis to Senior
Management, including identifying and evaluating specific KPIs.
• Conduct assessments and audits and recommend/implement quality assurance standards in relation to supply
chain management and propose improvements to existing methods, systems and procedures.
• Ensure all required import/export documentation, including federal and/or provincial reporting is completed
accurately and is submitted in a timely manner.
• Manage any supply/logistics provider complaints and ensure Senior Management is aware of such complaints.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Math or Engineering.
• 8-10 years of related experience (Business Analysis or Financial Planning and Analysis). Familiarity with
Canadian and international trade-related regulations and legislation.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse groups.
