Days Inn & Suites Moncton is a prime accommodation location when travelling to Canada’s Maritime region. We are located near the Magnetic Hill, the Magic Mountain Waterpark, Zoo, Casino, and more! Services and amenities at our location include a super-sized indoor pool, jetted hot tub, fitness centre, free WiFi, and parking. As a place of accommodation, we require a well-working team of managers, maintenance staff, concierge, receptionists, and more to ensure the location is to the standard of tourists. We aim to maintain a space that visitors can feel comfortable coming back to, especially after a long day of travels across New Brunswick.
At this time, we are looking for a Finance Director to ensure the hotel’s financial stability by overseeing accounting operations and implementing effective financial policies. A finance director provides accurate financial reports and analyses, enabling senior management to make informed decisions. By coordinating budgeting and financial planning, they help the hotel control costs and maximize profitability. Their role in evaluating financial systems and investment activities ensures that the hotel remains competitive and financially sound.
Responsibilities of a finance director at Days Inn will include the following:
• Manage the planning, coordination, oversight, and evaluation of operations within the accounting, audit, and financial departments.
• Design and enforce financial policies, systems, and procedures for the organization.
• Prepare and oversee the preparation of financial statements, summaries, cost-benefit analyses, and other financial reports.
• Lead the financial planning and budgeting process, analyzing and refining estimates as necessary.
• Direct the development and implementation of financial modeling and simulation strategies.
• Review financial reporting systems, accounting practices, and investment strategies, offering recommendations for improvements in procedures, operations, budgets, and financial controls to senior and department managers.
• Hire, organize, train, and supervise staff members.
• Act as the primary contact between the organization, shareholders, the investment community, and external financial analysts.
• Set profitability benchmarks for investment activities and manage mergers and acquisitions.
• Inform senior management of critical financial trends affecting the organization’s performance.
An ideal candidate for this position will have the following skills and qualifications:
• You are organized, have keep attention to detail, and embody a problem-solving nature that will allow you to tackle the day-to-day financial responsibilities at Days Inn
• You have a bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in accounting or financial planning and analysis will be required.
This is a full-time position fixed with an hourly salary of $63.50 hour based on a 37.5-hour work week.
Subject to eligibility, this position will include your participation in our standard employee benefits plan, and 2 weeks vacation.
