The Role: Reporting to the Seafood Department Head, the Seafood Butcher Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Department Head and Assistant Department Head in providing guidance, supervision and is set as a good example for Seafood associates to follow.

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience:
• 1 year or more of experience as a butcher
• Prior supervisory experience

Specific Tasks
• Clean, gut, descale and prepare fish and shellfish
• Cut fish into steaks and fillets
• Wrap and package prepared fish and seafood
• Remove bones from fish
• Weigh fish and seafood for sale
• Price fish and seafood products
• Assist customers in selecting seafood products and provide recommendations
• Sell fish and seafood to customers
• Supervise other seafood butchers
• Train junior seafood butchers and lead by example
• Handle customers’ complaints
• Prepare special displays of fish and seafood products
• Maintain sales records for inventory control
• Responsible for the storage of food, including incoming stock and conduct quality control during receiving
• Manage inventory and product quality in display cases, walk- in cooler and walk-in freezer; follow “First In, First Out” FIFO method
• Follow procedures to process expired products and manage shrinkage
