Equity Law Group is now seeking to hire a Legal Administrative Assistant.
We mainly practice in areas such as Immigration, Personal Injury, Wills & Estate, Real estate, Family Law as well as notarization and preparation of other legal documents.
We are looking for a person who is hard-working, detail oriented, able to work independently with strong attention to detail. Must have excellent customer service skills.

Wage Rate: $25.00 Hourly, for 40 Hours per week.
If any overtime-overtime wage rate of $ 37.50 per hour after 40 hours of work per week
Bi-weekly pay
Paid Statutory Holiday
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, and Week Days.
Benefits: will be according to BC Employment Standard Act & 4% vacation pay.
Education: Completion of high/ secondary school is required.
Experience: minimum 2 year of previous experience of working in related field is required.
Languages: Knowledge of English (both oral and written).
Credentials: Completion of secretary or legal secretaries program.

Job Duties/skills :

• Managing lawyers practice i.e., opening files, arranging meetings, scheduling appointments, bring forward system, file organization and client correspondence.
• Receiving, Filing, Scanning and updating documents.
• Creating and maintaining file binders and performing general office duties.
• Open and distribute regular and electronic incoming mail, Prepare legal documents.
• Record and prepare documents, scheduling meetings or conferences for lawyer.
• Review and proofread documents and correspondence to ensure compliance with legal procedures and grammatical usage.
• Back-up reception when needed.
• Maintain file binder and index and prepare the files that for to storage
• Create boxes to be sent to Govt. legal office and for storage. Maintain storage file index for internal record.
• Perform general office duties such as typing, photocopying and shredding confidential material and to place order for supplies for inter office requirements.

Job Requirements:
• Must have completed a minimum of Secondary school.
• Completion of secretary program/ legal secretaries program is required or equivalencies program will also be considered.
• Minimum of 2 year of previous experience of working in related field is required.
• Knowledge of English (both oral and written).

Additional requirement
• Besides working at Vancouver location, candidate must be willing to work in Surrey office, (located at: Unit 268, 8128-128St Surrey, B.C) as and when required by employer.
• Reasonable travel allowance will be provided, if candidate is required to work in Surrey office for some time during the course of the employment.
