We are currently seeking an Entertainment Manager / Event Planner to join our team. Job Purpose Summary

As Entertainment Manager/ Event Planner at Quarterdeck Inn & Marina Resort, he/she is responsible for planning and supervising all kinds of events and entertainment activities in our hotel. The Entertainment Manager/ Event Planner is responsible for ensuring events that take place in the resort go smoothly and according to plan. He/she also work with our clients to conceive and execute outstanding events that stay in budget and meet expectations.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Understanding and identifying the requirements for each event, knowing the trade and being creative, appropriate and professional
• Working with clients to guide them through event details and serving as their personal coordinator throughout the entire planning process and the event
• Planning the format with organizers, establishing and monitoring budgets, and reviewing the progress of administrative procedures and overseeing event operations
• Researching vendors such as caterers, decorators, artists and musicians, and selecting the best combination of quality and cost
• Interacting and negotiating with vendors in order to achieve the most favorable terms
• Partnering with Marketing and Public Relation team for publicizing and marketing hotel event properties or spaces to get them booked
• Cooperating with other participating organizations to promote public events
• Coordinating with hotel related departments for all aspects of services, entertainment and social gatherings for the events
• Running rehearsal and testing prior the event start and ensure that everything runs smooth and meets standards
• Identifying issues that may come up at events and acting quickly to resolve problems
• Interacting and keeping healthy communication and interactions with all parties
• Ensuring the event compliance with legislation, health and safety policy and procedure.
• Analyzing and evaluating an event’s success and submitting reports

Education and Experience

• Post-secondary education in business administration, hospitality or related subject is required;
• Previous experience in similar role is required;
• Tourism & Hospitality experience is an asset.

Job Type: Full-time, permanent, 35/week
