JOB DESCRIPTION
Prepare and cook meals as per the restaurant’s menu
Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food in a timely manner
Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff and delegate tasks to kitchen staff
Plan menus for the internal events and help cooks in requisition food and kitchen supplies
Set-up kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment like knives, pans and food scales
Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests
Monitor food stock and place orders as needed
Suggest new ingredients by experimenting with the recipes
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
Inform wait staff about daily specials
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
Read instructions about operating appliances and equipment
Interpret Occupational Health & Safety hazard symbols
Check off items and quantities on delivery checklists
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
High school completion preferred
EXPERIENCE
Trade certification of cooks is required
OR
2-3 years’ experience of commercial cooking/similar environment is required
LANGUAGE
English

Candidate should be willing to work in both morning & evening shifts.
Sometimes overtime may be required on some busy days/weekends
