Duties:

• Operate, maintain and monitor olefin-paraffin membrane-facilitated separation pilot equipment using DCS – delta V and PLC programming
• Analyze system performance using instrumentation and Gas chromatography.
• Prepare chemical solutions such as different concentrations of silver nitrate or any other reagent being used in the laboratory.
• Compile records, take notes, update process logbooks, interpret experimental or analytical results using daily operation parameters and identify process deviations
• Set up and conduct analytical analyses such as titrations, pH measurement, vacuum filtration, and Uv-vis spectrometry
• Develop and conduct methods of silver nitrate as well as gas sampling and analysis to maintain quality standards in terms of concentration, density, and ph.
• Assist in olefin-paraffin membrane critical development, membrane coupon testing, ongoing research and development activities, and research paper publication based on membrane separation studies in the field of chemical engineering.
• Take part in the inspection, maintenance, and development of the standard operating procedure for the membrane pilot unit in compliance with health, safety, and environmental measure.
• Operate and assist in the commissioning of experimental olefin-paraffin membrane separation pilot plants at various customer sites under supervision.
• Conduct or assist in chemical separation process-related problem solving and perform root cause analysis and assessments in compliance with the standards.
• Perform calibration check on various equipment such as flowmeters, control valves, etc.
• Some general administration, data gathering, and tasks to maintain lab cleanliness, organization, and chemical inventory.
• Able to use, repair, and maintain machines and tools. Knowledge of engineering science, math and technology.

Requirements:

• College diploma in Chemical Technology is required
• Experience with DCS-DELTA-V and PCL automation is required
• 2+ years of related chemical engineering/processing experience is required
• Experience working with membrane separations
• Experience with process control and simulations
• Experience in process optimization and troubleshooting
• Experience with gas chromatography
• Experience with pilot unit operations
