Job Description
* Operating and driving trucks with three axles to transport goods and materials as required
* Safely loading, handling, and transporting goods and heavy cargo safely
* Recording both materials picked up and delivered, performing pre-trip, en-route, and maintaining their vehicles before driving, updating lines, routes, total mileage and breaks every day
* Reporting any accidents or delays to supervisors, ensuring inspection and repairs to keep their vehicle safe and legal to operate
* Obeying traffic laws and following established traffic and transportation procedures
* Verifying the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers
* Performing emergency repairs like changing tires or installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, and spark plugs
* Reading maps and following written and verbal geographic directions; reporting mechanical problems with vehicles
