Job Description
- Calculate the time and material expenses needed to finish the graphic designs and drawings.
- Operate in a multidisciplinary setting
- Oversee the entire production process for print, video, or electronic content
- Communicate with customers to decide on the communications materials' general appearance, graphic components, and text
- Choose the media that will best provide the required visual effect and the most suitable communication vehicle
- Create the visual components that satisfy the goals of the clients
- Provide instructions for photographers or illustrators
- Create layouts, drawings, and visual components
- Use the existing typographic instructions, picture and illustration banks

Education
College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience

Responsibilities
Tasks
- Supervise other graphic designers or graphic arts technicians
- Estimate costs of materials and time to complete graphic designs and illustrations
- Work in a multidisciplinary environment
- Co-ordinate all aspects of production for print, audio-visual or electronic materials
- Co-ordinate sub-contracting
- Consult with clients to establish the overall look, graphic elements and content of communications materials
- Determine the medium best suited to produce the desired visual effect and the most appropriate vehicle for communication
- Develop the graphic elements that meet the clients' objectives
- Establish guidelines for illustrators or photographers
- Prepare sketches, layouts and graphic elements
- Use existing photo and illustration banks and typography guides
