Job Duties
-Operates equipment such as revolving lathe tools, manual milling machines, end mills, drill presses and grinders to produce machined parts out of metal.
-Uses blueprints provided by a company's engineers to assess specifications and configure equipment to produce batches of parts.
-Has technical knowledge and understands the precision of the requirements.
-Takes measurements to set up the devices adequately.
-Responsibilities may include cutting, squaring, milling, drilling, tapping, and boring.
-Assist in operating machines manually.
-Use measuring tools such as gauges, callipers, indicators, and micrometres to perform tool changes.
-Perform maintenance and look for potential problems.
-Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications.
-May clean or lubricate equipment and replace parts as required.
-Test and adjust machine speeds or actions according to product specifications using gauges and hand tools.
-Troubleshoot and perform corrective action or minor repairs.
Requirements
-Experience 1 year working in a similar or related environment.
-Basic math and geometry knowledge is an asset.
-Detail-oriented with the ability to analyze a problem quickly and troubleshoot effectively.
-Completion of high school (Preferred).
