Job responsibilities include:
- Fit and study garments on customers to determine required alterations using a tape measure
- Sew clothing using needles, thread, and/or a sewing machine
- Work with embroidery, sewing beads, laces, stones, and other decorative ornaments that go on the traditional South Asian clothing
- Design different patterns to the client’s liking and alter it accordingly
- Remove stitches from garments to be altered, using rippers and/or razor blades
- Prepare unique sample clothing to display in the store
- Sew in buttons and button holes when needed
- Fit, alter, repair, and make made-to-measure clothing according to customer’s specifications
- Estimate the cost of the clothing to prepare based on factors such as time and material requirements
- Put in padding and shaping materials when needed
- Mark, cut, and sew fabric while also know about altering and repairing the clothing as required
Work experience: 1 Year less than 2 years is required
Education: Completion of secondary school required
