Overview:
The Glass Technician’s primary job is to service the automotive needs of our Commercial and Retail customers. A Glass Technician’s duties include replacing all types and brands of automotive glass. Also, the role involves the repair and installation of glass in numerous types of heavy trucks and heavy equipment.
Duties:
• Repairing broken windshields and car windows, removing and replacing glass damaged beyond repair, applying weatherproofing strips to glass borders
• Using and maintaining all applicable Safety and PPE as required by the company
• Performing pre-work inspections and providing recommendations to the customer
• Removing and installing automotive glass parts, including windshields, door glass, back glass, sunroof, and panoramic glass roofs
• Efficiently and effectively using power tools and numerous hand tools
• Removing of door trims, panels, and mouldings
• Maintaining a clean and safe worksite
• Ensuring tools and equipment are in good working order and maintained according to company standards
Requirements:
• Highschool Diploma preferred;
• Completion of Sika Certification Program;
• 7 months to 1 year of formal training required;
• Physical fitness is considered an asset, job may require lifting up to 75 lbs;
• Ability to use power tools and hand tools; and
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
