Job Description
· Set up, assess, and label the area that will be covered.
· Meet with clients to discuss their tiling and marbling needs
· Construct underbeds and attach brackets, wiring, and anchor bolts.
· Using a hand trowel, mix, apply, and spread glue, mastic, mortar, and other adhesives.
· Place the tiles according to the lay out chart and press down to secure them to the base.
· Use straightedges, squares, and levels to align and straighten tiles.
· Using power and manual tools, cut tiles properly to size.
· Fill in grout gaps between tiles and clean off excess grout.
· Use mosaic tiles to make artistic designs.
· Combine, apply, and smooth terrazzo surfaces.
· Install, polish, and cut granite and marble.
· Replace any broken or cracked tiles.
· May draft orders and cost estimates.
· Provide clients with accurate quotes for the intended job.

Tasks
· Prepare, measure and mark surfaces to be covered
· Mix, apply and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives using hand trowel
· Prepare rough plans and sketches
· Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to base
· Align and straighten tiles
· Prepare tenders and quotations
· Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools
· Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles
· Supervise other workers
· Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural and floor designs
· Build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires and brackets
· Cut, surface, polish and install marble and granite
· Estimate costs and materials
· Mix, lay and polish terra surfaces
· Install tile strips
