Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities
• Ensure that meals are prepared in a timely manner in accordance with recipes and assembly manuals and charts.
• Prepare a daily prep sheet as par stocks indicate, levels on hand and amounts required.
• Responsible for daily and weekly procedures, including temperature checks, food labeling/dating, organized freezer, fridge and dry storage area.
• Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the restaurant.
• Train Cooks on the different stations of the kitchen line.
• Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of food preparation, cooking, planning menus and creating new menu items
• Oversee and coordinate kitchen operations
• Ensure that food is prepared and presented according to established recipes and quality standards
• Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
• Train and supervise kitchen staff, if required
• Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines
Skills Requirement:
• Completion of secondary school is required
• At least 1 year of cooking and culinary experience required in a professional kitchen
• Bachelor’s Degree is an asset
