JOB REQUIREMENTS
Languages: English
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
Work setting: Urban area, Retail Business
Tasks Supervision: 3-4 people, 5-10 people.
Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is available.
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Standing for extended periods.
TASK:
• Assign sales workers to duties,
• Hire and train or arrange for training of staff,
• Authorize payments by cheque,
• Order merchandise,
• Authorize return of merchandise,
• Establish work schedules,
• Sell merchandise,
• Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters,
• Organize and maintain inventory,
• Resolve problems that arise, such as customer complaints and supply shortages,
• Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers,
• Perform cash register functions and other related activities,
• Service customers at the Point of Sale with the cash, card payments, issue receipts, refunds and/or tickets,
• Promote a strong safety culture within the department by ensuring all facilities and equipment are maintained in proper working order and all maintenance concerns are dealt with in a timely manner,
• Checking deliveries, pricing merchandise & restocking the store as per the needs.
