Duties:
Overseeing the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of data maintenance and reference data processes. Instrumental in ensuring the availability of accurate and timely data to support investment decisions, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency

Responsibilities:

Data Governance and Strategy: Develop and implement data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data management strategies that align with business goals and regulatory requirements.

Reference Data Management: Lead efforts to manage, maintain, and update reference data, including securities, instruments, counterparty information, and pricing data.
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of reference data across various systems and platforms.

Data Quality and Integrity: Establish data quality metrics and benchmarks, and monitor data quality using appropriate tools and methodologies.
Identify and address data quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Process Optimization: Streamline data maintenance processes by identifying opportunities for automation, data standardization, and process improvements.
Collaborate with technology teams to implement data management solutions that enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with investment teams, risk management, compliance, and operations to understand data requirements and ensure seamless data flow.
Collaborate with technology teams to implement data-related solutions and address any data-related challenges.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that data management practices align with relevant industry regulations, such as MiFID II, GDPR, and other relevant standards.

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of data management professionals, providing guidance, performance feedback, and opportunities for skill development.
Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture that values continuous learning and professional growth.

Must Have:

• 8+ years of experience in Data Management & Reference Data Services
• In-depth knowledge of Creation + Maintenance of various Instrument Asset classes like Equities, Fixed Income and Derivatives products in Reference Data system as per information available on vendor sources like Bloomberg, S&P, Moody’s, Markit, WSO
• Perform research through Bloomberg, Markit, Moody’s, S&P, WSO or other vendor sources to find missing or additional information required to complete set up or maintenance
• Understanding of operational procedures around data control, cross verification of data, cleansing, consolidation and golden copy creation
• Execute daily processes to fulfil data production and maintenance
• Perform, assess and own the key process controls
• Support data operations; make sure the data is delivered on time, accurate and within scope
• Process/platform SME; conduct root cause analysis of data issues and act as the point of contact to address questions, queries and requests
• Independently perform work within guidelines and according to specific procedures
• A proactive approach to problem solving, taking ownership of issues and having the determination to follow things through
• Participate/coordinate in special projects such as; data clean up, process improvement analysis, metrics reporting
• Plan and prioritize all projects handled by the team
• Ensure checklist, metrics and EOD activities are completed and signed off
• Handling and monitoring issue and query mails and escalating issues promptly to managers
• Industry knowledge, experience in middle office operations, corporate actions, derivatives etc.
• Attention to detail, problem solving, and decision making
• Years of progressive experience in data management, reference data services, or related roles within the investment banking or asset management industry
• Strong understanding of financial instruments, securities, and market data within the asset management context
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of effectively leading and developing high-performing teams
• QA testing and validation
• Exceptional communication skills to liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Analytical mindset with the ability to drive data-driven decision-making processes
