Laureate College is a private secondary school located in Burlington, Ontario. The school is fully inspected by the Ontario Ministry of Education. The courses we offer derive from the curriculum set by the Ontario Ministry of Education, and our students work towards their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) in order to continue their academic careers at a post-secondary school of their choice.

Laureate College has offered a blended learning model since its inception in 2012. With its robust online learning platform, LC Online, and more than 80 well-developed online credit courses, Laureate College supported many overseas students during the pandemic. Based on its proven success, Laureate College plans to expand its online OSSD program by working with overseas partnering schools and learning centers while still serving online programs to individual students.

Laureate College is seeking an experienced professional to work as our Online Program Co-ordinator and to be responsible for the LC Online program operations and management.

This position is expected to work on-site at Laureate College’s campus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Program administration, curriculum review and update
• Conduct research, produce reports and advice on the development of the structure and content of the online programs
• Develop teaching materials and other resources for program delivery
• Prepare the Online Course Offer Plan for each term and share it to the partners
• Coordinate with the online teachers to have the weekly three one hour synchronous sessions timetable
• Review and Evaluate curriculum programs and recommend improvements

Student Admission and Services
• Follow the current online student application procedures to admit students
• Register the online student and set up for all the online learning accounts, i.e., Office, e-mail, Teams, Moodle, PowerSchool etc.
• Provide orientation to the newly enrolled online students to make sure that they are familiar with the systems and ready for online learning
• Provide the orientation for the newly enrolled online students to understand the learning resources and learning activities required for the online program
• Educate students to understand the course outline, instruction plan, rubrics, and course textbooks
• Support the online instructors by making sure that the students are well prepared and present to the first class of synchronous instruction
• Have regular classroom observations to make sure that the online program is going as planned
• Communicate with the online instructor to see whether extra support is needed for the students and provide such extra support if needed
• Communicate with parents as the liaison to collect the feedback and share to the online instructors
• Send the school report to the students and interpret the school report to the parents if needed

Marketing and Promotion
• Support for the marketing and promotion by preparing and updating the promotional materials and attending the webinars
• Develop presentations at conferences, workshops and symposias
• Update LC Online webpage regularly
• Join the annual review of LC Online and make the plan for LC Online’s next school year’s calendar, tuition and staffing plan
• Other jobs required by the supervisor

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree or above in education or business administration
• Knowledge of main educational systems and international secondary school curriculums
• Program management and co-ordination experience is required
• Specialized knowledge and experience with distant/online education systems and platforms is preferred
• Two years of relevant work experience, including experience in a multicultural and/or international education setting
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Moodle system
• Fluency in English written and oral skills
