Description

The Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety is responsible for overseeing Saskatchewans correctional system and facilities and for providing guidance and support to Saskatchewans municipal police services.

The Communications Branch in the Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety works in a fast-paced and engaging environment. The Branch is primarily responsible for raising awareness about Ministry initiatives, programs and services. The Branch oversees and executes a wide variety of internal and external communications and supports all areas of the Ministry in achieving their communications goals.

The Communications Branch is seeking a dedicated and motivated Senior Media Relations Consultant with experience in media relations, public communication, and crisis management.
The Ideal Candidate

As our successful candidate, you will be well-organized with superior judgment and interpersonal skills.

Typically, the knowledge and competencies required for this position would be acquired through:

- Completion of an undergraduate degree in journalism, communications, media studies, or a related field of study, combined with several years of experience in the field of media relations; and
- Working knowledge of, the correctional system and the courts will be considered an asset.
- A valid Saskatchewan driver's license is required as occasional travel within the province will be required.
