The Gracie Barra Vancouver classes are aligned with the Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Program structure developed by Master Carlos Gracie Jr. to meet the specific learning needs of people from different ages, genders, and levels.

Job Title: Jiu-Jitsu Instructor

Job Description:

As a Jiu-Jitsu Instructor at Gracie Barra Vancouver, your main duties and responsibilities are:

– Develop comprehensive lesson plans and lead structured training sessions focused on Jiu-Jitsu techniques, drills, and sparring.

– Ensure all necessary equipment and gear are prepared and maintained for each training session.

– Demonstrate and instruct Jiu-Jitsu techniques and principles with precision and clarity, catering to individual students’ needs and skill levels.

– Provide personalized coaching and feedback to students, helping them progress in their practice and achieve their goals.

– Lead group classes in a supportive and motivating environment, encouraging students to challenge themselves and excel.

– Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with diverse learning styles and abilities, including those with special needs.

– Integrate discussions on health, fitness, and self-defense strategies into training sessions to promote lifestyle awareness.

– Incorporate therapeutic techniques to address injuries or physical limitations, prioritizing the safety and well-being of all participants.

– Monitor training activities closely to maintain a safe environment, intervening promptly to provide assistance or first aid when necessary.

– Enforce safety protocols and regulations to minimize the risk of injury during training sessions.

– Assist in organizing and coordinating special events, such as seminars, workshops, and belt promotions.

– Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and incidents, and prepare reports for program evaluation.

– Provide mentorship and guidance to assistant instructors, supporting their professional development and growth.

– Conduct regular equipment inspections and perform maintenance and repairs as needed to ensure gear functionality and safety.



Requirements:

– Minimum 1 year experience as a Jiu-Jitsu instructor.

– Black or Brown Belt required

– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

– Ability to effectively teach and demonstrate Jiu-Jitsu techniques to students of all levels.

– Passion for Jiu-Jitsu and a commitment to promoting its values of discipline, respect, and self-improvement.

– CPR/First Aid certification (preferred)

– Gracie Barra Instructor Certification Program

– Criminal Record Check Required
