Position: Purchasing Manager
Compensation: CAD 58.94/hr
Work Hours: 30 hours per week

THE ROLE
We’re seeking an experienced, results-driven purchasing manager to join our team at Basil Leaf Asian Noodle House Ltd. This position will be responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies, tracking metrics, negotiating deals, and managing vendors. The successful candidate will be able to forecast market trends, analyzing costs, mitigating risks, and determining optimal delivery quantities and timings.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies which help to accomplish our business goals such as cost, quality, and supplier relationships.
•Identify and evaluate reliable suppliers and manage ongoing relationships to ensure the best possible value for our business.
•Forecast market trends, industry developments, and changes in supply and demand to make informed purchasing decisions.
•Manage procurement budgets, track expenses, and work to optimize costs while maintaining quality standards.
•Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with suppliers, ensuring contracts are clear, enforceable, and aligned with business objectives.
•Monitor inventory levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts, optimizing the balance between availability and cost.
•Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, such as disruptions, quality issues, or regulatory compliance concerns.
•Supervise and lead our franchise purchasing staff, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
•Identify opportunities for strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, and diversification to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
•Generate reports and analyze market data to track purchasing trends, measure performance, and provide insights for decision-making.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Degree in business administration, supply chain management or logistics preferred
•3 years purchasing management experience in food service or retail industry
•Exceptional administrative and time management skills
•Ability to work well under pressure and set priorities
•Strong Microsoft Office Suite, general computer & database software knowledge, data entry experience
•Quick learner and ability to be assertive
•Ability to follow direction and work independently as required
•Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
•Good communication and negotiation skills
