As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), your role encompasses various responsibilities that directly impact patient care and well-being:
Provide nursing care that adheres to established policies, physician orders, and resident care plans within the scope of LPNs.
Ensure proper medication and narcotics handling, control, and storage according to protocols.
Foster a comfortable, safe environment promoting privacy, dignity, autonomy, and individual values.
Support residents in achieving or maintaining maximum functional ability.
Exercise sound judgment by promptly reporting changes in residents' conditions and taking necessary actions.
Collaborate with team members, monitor care, communicate with residents and families, and guide support staff.
Coordinate with medical professionals to enhance clinical care for residents.
Continuously assess personal nursing practice and learning needs.
Participate in educational programs and professional development opportunities.
Document care plans, interventions, and outcomes effectively.
Collect and document comprehensive nursing histories and assessments.
Perform additional assigned duties as necessary.
Qualifications & Skills
Diploma in Practical Nursing.
Current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with The College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Saskatchewan (CLPNS).
Minimum 2 years of geriatric experience preferred.
Up to date First Aid, CPR Level BLS.
Successful annual completion certification as per Ministry of Health requirements
Transferring, Lifting, and Repositioning (TLR) training an asset.
Good knowledge of computer and medical equipment
Must have a valid driver's license
