We are seeking applications for a Full-Time Temporary Office Assistant to join our team to cover a 12 to 18 month leave. The successful candidate will represent the R.M. of Orkney No. 244 by setting tone for the customer experience, both in person and over the phone, to help create a positive atmosphere. The position will include general office duties and organization.
Responsibilities:
-Assists the Administrator
-Answering and forwarding all correspondence in a professional and a timely manner, assisting with public inquiries
-Collecting and delivering mail
-Maintenance and operation of various office equipment including fax, postage, copier, projector and debit machines
-General organization of the office including filing and ordering and maintaining office supplies
-Performing clerical duties including but not limited to: completing letters, reports, faxing and filing documents
-Issuing receipts, handling of cash and maintaining deposits (must be bondable)
-Will involve completing general research and reports as well as maintaining and completing various spreadsheets and updating information on the R.M. website as well as other directories
-Booking, organizing and setting up for various meetings and conventions
-Updating and maintaining various maps through different programs
-Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
-Exceptional customer service skills
-Able to work independently as well as with others
-Highly organized and detail oriented; able to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines
-Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
-Experience in an office setting
-Minimum grade 12 education
-General accounting knowledge would be considered an asset
-Must have own vehicle and valid Saskatchewan driver's license
-Must be of sound mind and body with the ability to lift up to 40lbs
