Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Non-smoking. Air conditioned. Work setting: Graphic design firm. Printing shop. Industrial. Private company, corporation or industry. Tasks: Estimate time to complete graphic designs and illustrations. Adapt existing illustrations. Consult with clients to determine the nature and content of illustrations in order to meet their communications needs. Develop and produce realistic or representational sketches and final illustrations. Produce 2-D and 3-D animated drawings or computer illustrations. Work in a multidisciplinary environment. Co-ordinate all aspects of production for print, audio-visual or electronic materials. Determine the medium best suited to produce the desired visual effect and the most appropriate vehicle for communication. Develop the graphic elements that meet the clients' objectives. Prepare sketches, layouts and graphic elements. Use existing photo and illustration banks and typography guides. Process files and paperwork. Supervision: No supervision responsibility. Computer and technology knowledge: Rhinoceros 3D (Rhino). Corel Draw. AutoCAD. InDesign. Adobe Suite. Adobe Illustrator. Adobe Photoshop. Adobe Acrobat Reader. Type of production art: Visual effects. Equipment and machinery experience: Scanner. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Public transportation is available.
