Responsibilities
- Use a variety of hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and machines such as lathes, CNC mills, EDM, grinders, and drills
- Inspect finished tools and dies for quality and accuracy
- Troubleshoot and repair tools and dies as needed
- Collaborate with team members to develop new tooling designs
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Experience
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of tooling principles
- Mastercam and SolidWorks, Mastercam, and basic office software is required
- Experience with hand tools, machining equipment, and precision measuring instruments
- Ability to read design drawings
- Strong mathematical skills for measurements and calculations
- Machine experience with manual lathe and drill presses
- Tool shop experience on material handling and safe practices
- EDM drop sink experience is a bonus not required
We are a Custom Injection Molding company with over 25 years of history and is looking to increase the tool shop side of the business. Building and servicing hundreds of injection molds per year. Looking for 10 plus years of experience in tool and die and or Injection mold tooling experience. The full-service tool shop has all range of machines from CNC to EDM and surface grinding. Machine experience is a plus as this shop services a 24-hour production floor.
The Tool and Die Machinist is responsible for fabricating, repairing, maintaining, and modifying various types of tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges. This role requires a high level of precision and attention to detail to ensure the quality of the produced parts. The Tool and Die Machinist will work closely with our design team to develop new tooling designs that meet the specifications provided.
