Job duties of a Construction Labourer include:
• Handle the loading and unloading of construction materials.
• Transport materials to designated areas.
• Assemble and disassemble various structures, such as concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades.
• Prepare and apply materials like concrete and asphalt.
• Assist skilled tradespeople, including carpenters, bricklayers, cement finishers, roofers, and glaziers, with their tasks.
• Support heavy equipment operators by attaching special equipment, guiding them, and offering assistance.
• Assist in aligning pipes and performing tasks related to pipeline construction.
• Aid in drilling and blasting rock at construction sites.
• Level ground to precise specifications using hand tools.
• Assist in demolishing buildings, sorting salvageable materials, and cleaning up debris.
• Operate pneumatic tools, vibrators, tampers, and other equipment as needed.
• Maintain and operate machines or equipment used in construction, such as mixers, compressors, and pumps.
• Clean up chemical spills and safely remove hazardous materials, including asbestos.
• Perform regular maintenance tasks like oiling and greasing hoists and similar equipment.
• Direct traffic near construction sites to ensure safety.
• Carry out other duties as assigned on construction sites.
Language of work: English
Required education: High school or equivalent
Required work experience: Experience is an asset
