The Role: As the Head Butcher of fish products, you will oversee all aspects of fish butchering operations. This includes acting as a butcher, managing a team of butchers, ensuring the quality and freshness of fish products, and maintaining a clean and efficient workspace. You will also be responsible for training staff, managing inventory of fresh and frozen fish, and collaborating with other departments to meet production goals.

•2 years or more of experience as a butcher
•1 year or more of supervisory experience

Specific Tasks
•Oversee the daily operations of the fish butchering team
•Clean, gut, descale and prepare fish and shellfish
•Wrap and package prepared fish and seafood
•Remove bones from fish
•Weigh fish and seafood for sale
•Price fish and seafood products
•Sell fish and seafood to customers
•Cut fish into steaks and fillets
•Ensure the highest standards of fish preparation, including filleting, deboning, and portioning
•Supervise other seafood butchers on proper techniques and safety practices
•Train junior seafood butchers
•Prepare special displays of fish and seafood products
•Maintain sales records for inventory control and ensure minimal waste of fresh and frozen supplies
•Handle customers’ complaints
•Maintain an organized and sanitary work environment
•Monitor and enforce compliance with health and safety regulations.
•Develop and implement efficient butchering processes to improve productivity
•Conduct quality control inspections to ensure products meet company standards
