Position: Cabinetmaker
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Part Time, Overtime, Weekend, Day, Evening
Wage Rate: $27.50 Hourly for 30-40 Hours per week (Overtime applicable after 40 hours in a week)
Anticipated Start Date (at the latest in 3 months): As soon as possible

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation
Experience: 1-2 years of experience working in a relevant field is required
Language: English
Specific Skills:
• Study and verify specifications and drawings of articles to be made
• Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit and reinforce joints
• Measure and mark dimensions of parts prior to cutting, following blueprints, to ensure tight fit and quality product
• Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products
• Operate woodworking equipment and use hand tools such as planes, chisels or wood files and shapers to cut, shape and form parts and components
• Repair and restyle wooden furniture, fixtures and related products
• Estimate the amounts, types and costs of materials needed
• Apply protective or decorative finishes to workpieces or products
• Confer with customers to determine order specifications
Additional Skills: Instruct apprentices, maintain clean and safe work environment, Manual Dexterity, Attention to detail
