Centobin Law is looking to employ a Canadian-qualified lawyer who is licenced to practice in Prince Edward Island and Alberta to join our team. Reporting to the Principal, the successful candidate will have a strong background in Family, Criminal, and Immigration Law. Experience working on refugee claims and appeals is an asset. The successful candidate should also possess experience and qualifications in Family and Commercial Mediation.
Responsibilities:
1. Individually and with other counsel, formulate strategies for dispute resolution.
2. Provide ongoing management of disputes, including litigation.
3. Draft regulatory applications and related regulatory filings.
4. Provide general advice and legal oversight by working closely with all Centobins clients and service users.
5. Review, draft and negotiate various contracts and other legal documents with clients.
6. Provide timely and responsive client service.
7. Oversee litigation matters
Requirements
1. A license to practice law in Alberta and Prince Edward Island;
2. A university degree (LLB; JD) in law and member of a provincial bar;
3. Newly qualified to 3 years of related legal experience;
4. An understanding of Immigration and Refugee laws;
5. Proven ability/experience in the above-noted areas;
6. Demonstrated initiative and confidence;
7. Ability to provide practical legal advice and risk assessment;
8. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills;
9. Ability to meet tight deadlines and work as a team player;
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
11. Proven track record of good attendance and job performance; and
12. Ability to work under pressure and in a variety of environments.
