FSAs are involved in providing the financial information required to plan exercises and operations, looking back at previous years’ expenses to determine what is required for the upcoming events. They can also be employed as a claims clerk, responsible for finalizing claims for personnel returning from tasks away from their unit and reconciling cash balances at the end of the day. Financial Services Administrators are part of the Logistics Branch of the Canadian Armed Forces. They are soldiers first and then FSAs.

On deployment, FSAs could oversee accounting, or they could work as a contracts clerk. As they progress in rank, their functions and responsibilities increase.
FSAs, or Financial Services Administrators, provide financial services, advice and management for the Royal Canadian Navy, Army, Royal Canadian Air Force and Special Operations Forces. This includes general office bookkeeping, accounts payable and accounts receivable support, as well as budget management services.

Reserve Force members usually serve part time at a Reserve Force Division in their community and may serve while going to school or working at a civilian job. They are paid during their training. They are not posted or required to do a military move. However, they can volunteer to move to another base. They may also volunteer for deployment on a military mission within or outside Canada. We offer full time summer employment, beginning 1 May until 31 Aug, this is a great opportunity for students.
All successful applicants will be required to complete the Basic Military Qualification course (BMQ), either part time, (Friday to Sunday every other weekend for 11 weekends) normally held between September and March or full time in the summer (Monday to Friday) for 5 weeks.

Upon completion of the Basic Military Qualification Course, candidates will be required to attend the Financial Services Administrator Development Phase One course for an 8.5-week period at Canadian Forces Base Borden. This course is run during the summer and all candidates are required to reside in the barracks for the duration of the course.
