We are looking for a Supply chain specialist to join our growing team at Paper Plus. You will be working for a locally owned and operated supplies distribution company in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia that is focused on offering high quality goods for reasonable price.
We are seeking someone with a background in supply chain management. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing our company's supply chain operations. You will collaborate closely with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams to ensure efficient procurement, production planning, inventory management, and distribution.
Main Responsibilities
- Source and procure a diverse range of materials and supplies from various vendors.
- Monitor and coordinate supply chain strategies to enhance the efficiency and speed of supply operations.
- Assess inventory levels for materials and supplies, collaborating with the sales team and management to forecast demand and ensure adequate stock.
- Managing all communication and negotiations with suppliers, freight and logistics companies, and other supplies service providers.
- Work closely with department heads to plan and implement optimal sourcing strategies.
- Track costs meticulously and adhere to allocated budgets, with comprehensive reporting responsibilities.
- Establish logistics for delivery schedules, oversee progress, and communicate with clients and suppliers to resolve any issues.
- Compile and submit regular reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Maintain detailed records of incoming and outgoing products, equipment, and materials.
- Train and supervise purchasing agents and operational staff.
- Address and resolve any supply chain challenges that arise.
Qualifications
- Completion of a university degree in business management or related field is mandatory. Graduate studies would be an asset.
- A minimum of 3 years of practical experience in a procurement and logistics role
