The Rock Daycare located at 3883 Kirkaldy Street, Thornhill, BC V8G 3M8, is looking for Early Childhood Educator Assistant. This is a full-time position with minimum of 40 hours per week. Pay rate will be $20-22 per hour depending on the skill and experience of the candidate.
Job requirements:
- Completion of high school;
- Work experience of six months is preferred;
- Valid ECEA certificate;
- First Aid Level 1;
- Food Safe certificate;
- Driver’s licence;
- Responsible adult certificate;
- 3 written references from childcare experience.
Duties:
- Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- Assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties
- Bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers
- Maintain daycare equipment
- Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- Encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
Janitorial duties:
· Vacuum boot room + hallway each morning
· Sanitize top of cubbies each morning
· Complete daily check lists using work phone
· Sanitize all washrooms daily
· Vacuum + sanitize play structure once a week
· Sanitize high touch surfaces (doorknobs, light switches) once a week
· Washing windows once a week
· Vacuum classrooms once a week
· Take out classroom garbage’s at end of everyday
· Take out janitor room garbage at end of each day
· Keep inventory of janitorial supplies
· Support classroom ECE’s with lunch/ snack clean up
Classroom ECE support
· Support classroom ECEs with high transitions times
· Cover staff breaks
· Sanitize classroom toys during rest time/ break coverage
· Assist children with potting, changing of clothes, diapers when needed
Classroom coverage:
· Maintain quality care for children’s growth and development
· Maintain effective communication with parents, staff, and management.
· Facilitate classroom using classroom schedule
· Submit incident reports when needed.
School-age Program:
· Facilitate classroom for ages 5-12
· Facilitate age-appropriate activities
· Maintain communication between parents and management
· Submit incident reports when needed
· Clean classroom
