Royal Pacific Institute is our school’s official name, and Oshio College of Acupuncture and Herbology is our school’s operating name. Oshio College was established in Victoria, BC, Canada in 1999. Oshio College is Victoria’s oldest and most well-established college of traditional Chinese medicine.
Oshio College has two Victoria campuses: the Saanich Road location, at Suite #100, 3491 Saanich Road (just across from Uptown Plaza), and the Clinic at #110-1595 McKenzie Ave.
At Royal Pacific Institute, we offer an authentic traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) education. Our teachers provide high-quality instruction with many years of experience in working as doctors in clinics and hospitals as well as teaching in TCM universities and colleges in China and Canada.
Job Duties:
1.Conduct a thorough assessment of the patient's medical history, health conditions, and physical symptoms to diagnose the most suitable care plan.
2.Form a customized acupuncture treatment plan for each patient based on diagnosis, including the exact key points on body parts to target for each session.
3.Perform acupuncture procedures by applying sterile needles to the appropriate points along with various manipulating skills, such as electrical stimulation, heat therapy, or pressurized massage.
4.Monitor the patient's response to the acupuncture treatment and adjust the specific needle techniques to maintain the effectiveness.
5.Educate patients about the principles of acupuncture to reduce their concerns over the treatment; advice on adjustment in lifestyle, such as diet change, exercises, or herbal remedy to enhance acupuncture results.
6.Ensure a smooth communication with patients to keep them comfortable throughout the sessions.
7.Maintain a safe and clean work environment by strictly adhering to the hygiene and health protocols regulated by the government.
8.Stay updated on the latest acupuncture research, technique advances, and developments to make constant improvement upon the existing procedures.
9.Maintain detailed and accurate client records while keeping them confidential, including treatment notes, progress reports, and adjustments of client regimens.
Qualifications:
1.The completion of a diploma in traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, or possessing relevant training in a related discipline is required.
2.Experience or internship in practicing acupuncture is an asset.
3.Registration with a regulatory body is highly preferred.
4.Show compassion in providing support or care to patients.
5.Display effective communication skills with clients to address their concerns, symptoms, and emotional impact.
6.Possess the ability to analyze health issues and develop personalized treatment plans based on patient needs for acupuncture.
7.Hold high ethical standards and respect for patients from diverse backgrounds.
