Smitty’s Oyster House is recruiting for a Restaurant Supervisor. This is a full-time (40 hours per week), year-round position. Duties include:
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant with a hands on approach;
• Supervise and provide training for servers, bartenders, host and expo positions;
• Lead and motivate employees;
• Assist with the scheduling of employees;
• Estimate and order food, drink, equipment and supplies;
• Establish methods to meet work schedules;
• Track wastage of food and liquor;
• Ensures high levels of customer service and satisfaction;
• Ensure quality and consistency of food and beverages;
• Provide support with the hiring of front of house staff;
• Assist with controlling labour costs and determine the length of shifts based on incoming revenue;
• Work with the draft system and troubleshoot any issues that arise;
• Make judgement calls and address any concerns or issues that arise in the absence of management;
• May perform the duties of those being supervised, during busy periods.

Job requirements:
• High School Diploma or Equivalent Certification;
• At least three years previous work experience in the food and beverage service industry, with at least one of these years in a supervisory position;
• Previous experience working with draught systems and an ability to trouble shoot challenges;
• Knowledge of POS systems is a strong asset.
