Job Description:
• Operate a straight truck or a tractor-trailer with two or three axles.
• Loading and unloading trucks.
• Maintain daily truck records and submit mileage reports.
• Create reports on work-related issues, estimate budgets and track expenditures.
• Adhere to both company and government regulations and rules.
• Secure cargo safely and manage hazardous materials.
• Communicate with dispatchers and fellow drivers using onboard radios.
• Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any identified issues. Like performing pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and overseeing all aspects of vehicle
• Address workplace challenges and seek ways to enhance performance.
• Establish strategies to meet job deadlines and collaborate with other departments.
• Provide training to employees on job responsibilities, safety protocols, and company policies.
• Assist with recruitment processes of new drivers in the team.
• Review routes to anticipate delivery times.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled and fuel consumption
