Colwin Electrical Group is seeking a very experienced, full-time Human Resource Generalist. This position intends to operate, develop and enhance general human resource programs and functions within Colwin Electrical Group. Amongst some of the functions, the individual would provide current and new employee support, support and organize training opportunities for staff, action recruitment and retention strategies, employee policy management and talent/performance management.

As the Human Resource Generalist, your responsibilities will include:
• Plan and administer recruitment processes by working with management to discuss recruitment strategies.
• Hire staff by creating and updating job postings, reviewing and assessing resumes, and conducting interviews for candidates.
• Review and evaluate applicant qualifications or eligibility for specified licensing according to established guidelines and designated licensing codes.
• Manage the full onboarding process and implement employee information in relevant company systems and records.
• Manage employee certifications and licenses for active or expiration status.
• Assist management in developing and implementing company culture initiatives.
• Assist management in supporting employee career growth and development, as relevant to the construction electrical industry.
• Coordinate and assist in employee assessment reviews.
• Develop, implement and maintain human resources, policies and procedures.
• Oversee the training or development programs for staff.
• Maintain current knowledge of human rights and employment standards guidelines, acts and laws.
• Research and assist with the assessment of job positions and appropriate pay ranges.
• Provide support for employee benefits administration by researching best practices and making recommendations to existing policies.
• Provide support for short/long-term disability Work Safe claims.
• Coordinate employee relocations as needed to new work locations.
• Coordinate the purchase and disbursement of employee safety products as per the construction electrical industry requirements.
• Manage and oversee general day-to-day operations and interactions with employees and advise employees on the company policies, benefits and remuneration.
• Promote a positive employee environment, encourage productivity and supportive relationships with management.
• Follow and share relevant industry trends with management pertaining to Human resources.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human resources
• Minimum 5+ years of Human Resources experience.
• CPHR Designation preferred
• A minimum of 1 year of construction electrical industry experience is needed.
• Advanced English communication and interpersonal skills including written communication.
• Proficiency with standard office systems and applications.
• Proficiency or familiarity with HRMS and HRIS applications.
• Advanced knowledge of relevant employment, labour and human rights legislation.
• Desire to build productive, collaborative relationships between management, employees and other external parties.
• Advanced knowledge of the concepts of workforce planning, talent recruitment, retention, diversity, career management and other relevant human resource segments.
• This position requires on-site work at our office. Remote work is not currently available
