Daan Go Cake Lab is seeking a motivated Bakery Supervisor to oversee operations at our central kitchen location at 1 Glendinning Ave, unit 19, Scarborough, ON M1W 3E2. As a Bakery Supervisor, you will lead a team of bakers and kitchen staff, ensuring the smooth execution of daily production, maintaining quality standards, and managing inventory. You will create and oversee work schedules, train staff on technical skills, and ensure all kitchen operations run efficiently. Additionally, you will play a key role in recipe development, managing waste, and maintaining communication between kitchen and front-of-house teams.
Job Summary:
• Prepare batters, creams, fillings, crumbles, and chocolate work
• Assemble cakes and assess them for quality and improvements
• Operate various bakery equipment
• Manage and order inventory to ensure adequate kitchen stock and reduce waste
• Hire, train, and monitor kitchen staff, ensuring proficiency in technical skills and maintaining quality control
• Maintain and improve kitchen standards, including cleanliness and recipe updates based on feedback
• Coordinate with front-of-house to ensure product availability and quality for customers and external vendors
Requirements:
• 3+ years’ proven experience in commercial baking
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Completion of secondary school
• Ability to improve kitchen processes and enforce proper communication between staff
• Availability for weekend shifts and ability to perform heavy lifting as needed
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to maintain product quality under pressure
