21 Steps Kitchen and Bar, a locally owned and operated restaurant located in the heart of Whistler Village, is hiring for the position of Prep Cook.
Details of the position are as follows:
• Wage: Starting at $19/hr with potential for increases with length of service
• Hours: full-time, 35-40 hours per week (but we will also consider applicants with only part time availability)
• Terms of employment: Ongoing, year-round.

Job duties:
1. Cook menu items and prepare meals in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
1. Prepare food for service (i.e. chopping vegetables, butchering meats and preparing sauces)
2. Ensure that food is prepared simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
3. Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
4. Determine portion sizes, estimate food requirements and order supplies
5. Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
6. Supervise and train kitchen employees on the salad station, in the dish pit, and on prep cook duties
7. Clean up station and properly store unused food
8. Keep floor clean, free of spills, food, trash and other obstacles
9. Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef instructions
10. Comply with all nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
11. Willing to help with other duties such as washing dishes as required.
Job Requirements:
• At least one year cooking experience in a similar style restaurant
• Ability to speak and read English
