Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 CAD per year

Duties:
• Enter purchase orders into the SAP system on a daily basis for special and standard products as required
• Convert purchase requisitions to stock transfers as required.
• Provide back up to commodity purchaser to assign vendor to the purchase requisitions and convert purchase requisitions to purchase orders for all standard or nonstandard articles as required including ship directs to customers
• Leverage Rittal’s buying power to optimize costs, access new suppliers, reduce lead times and guarantee supply
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential buyers and suppliers to Rittal
• Invite tenders, consult with suppliers and review quotations
• Establish logistics of delivery schedules, monitor progress and contact clients and suppliers to resolve problems
• Determine contract terms and conditions and recommend contract awards
• Evaluate risk, assess, prepare forecasts, scenarios and other factors
• Ensure all purchase order confirmations / category date changes are entered in a timely manner in SAP as required to meet all schedules
• Perform receiving transactions in SAP as required to support receiving activities
• Issue customer complaints as required and communicate problems to vendors for quality or short shipments
• Support processing of internal light manufacturing orders within SAP as per below
• Administration/processing of special Modification orders through the SAP Mod module based on modification drawings
• Informing relevant sales and procurement parties when parts are missing, and orders are completed as per above Admin/processing function
• Expediting of parts for internal mod orders to meet with production schedules to ensure projects remain on schedule
• Identify high impact cost reduction opportunities
• Respond to customer service inquiries and clarify requirements and provide information as needed
• Ensure that all safety procedures are adhered to, including wearing safety shoes or toe caps while working in the warehouse area. Other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn, i.e. paint masks, safety glasses, and hearing protection when using hazardous chemicals and working in the modification area
• Take part in Health and Safety issues discussed in monthly meetings
Requirements:
• Post-secondary diploma or certificate in Supply Chain Management or a related field; or PMAC accreditation required
• 2-3 years of related experience as a buyer, procurement officer, procurement executive or equivalent
• 2-3 years’ experience with SAP
• Experience reading technical drawings such as AutoCAD and Inventor
• Experience working with subcontractors
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Intermediate working knowledge of Excel and Word
• Preference will be given to candidates with a working knowledge of mechanical engineering practices and processes
• Preference will be given to candidates with international buying experience
