Job Title: Education Statistician (NOC 21210)
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
(1) Data Collection
• Design and implement surveys, assessments, and experiments to collect data on students, teachers, schools, and educational programs.
• Gather data from various sources, such as student test scores, graduation rates, enrollment statistics, and survey responses.
(2) Data Analysis and Interpretation
• Use statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, SAS, or Python) to analyze educational data and identify trends, patterns, and correlations.
• Conduct analyses such as regression analysis, factor analysis, and multivariate analysis to understand factors impacting educational outcomes.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs, policies, and interventions by analyzing relevant data.
(3) Policy and Program Evaluation
• Assess the impact of educational policies, programs, and curricula on student outcomes and institutional effectiveness.
• Provide evidence-based recommendations for policy changes or program improvements based on statistical findings.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy laws and regulations, when handling sensitive educational data
(4) Professional Research and Development
• Conduct mathematical and statistical research on the company education programs, student performance and exam results to provide data for improving the business education programs
• Apply mathematical and statistical techniques to solve the company education program issues and improve the programs for the company
• Develop and refine statistical methodologies to support research in education training programs.
• Stay updated on advances in statistical methods, data analysis tools, and educational research.
• Participate in professional development, conferences, and workshops relevant to educational statistics and data science.
(5) Statistical Consulting and Support
• Use statistical theory and methods to analyze data and generate insights in educational research.
• Offer expert statistical analysis for educational program outcomes and financial earnings.
• Advise the company on how to make decisions on improving education programs from the research data.
• Provide technical support to educators and administrators on how to interpret and use statistical findings in practice.
• Work closely with researchers, teachers and other education professionals to identify data needs and objectives
(6) Development of Educational Metrics and Standards
• Design and refine metrics and standards for evaluating educational success (e.g., achievement scores, pass rates).
• Contribute to the development of standardized testing and assessment tools.
Terms of employment: Permanent Full-time Position
Salary and Hours: $52 per hour for 32.5 hours a week
Location of work: Toronto, Ontario

Skills requirements:
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree
• Work Experience: More than one month of work experience as an Education Statistician in Canadian education industry
• Strong knowledge of R, Python or SAS in quantitative business and statistical analysis.
• Strong knowledge and experience in working with an ERP system and an LMS platform
• Knowledge of how to use data analytics such as SQL, SPASS, Tableau etc.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Objective-C, Java etc.
• Ability to work on various operating systems, such as Windows, Mac, Linux, Android.
• Regular daytime work schedule with potential evening hours.
