We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Autobody Painter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, priming, painting, and finishing commercial vehicles and equipment. This role requires attention to detail, technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional workmanship.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Surface Preparation:?Prepare commercial vehicles for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking surfaces to be painted, ensuring proper adhesion of paint materials.
Mixing and Matching Paints:?Accurately mix and match paint colors to vehicle specifications, utilizing knowledge of paint properties and application techniques.
Spray Painting:?Apply paint to commercial vehicles using various techniques such as airbrushing, HVLP guns, and other industry-standard equipment to achieve a smooth and even finish.
Quality Control:?Inspect finished work to ensure it meets quality standards, making any necessary touch-ups or corrections as needed.
Equipment Maintenance:?Maintain and clean painting equipment regularly to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Report any equipment issues for timely repairs.
Safety Compliance:?Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment, to create a safe working environment.
Collaboration:?Work closely with other team members, including collision repair technicians, to coordinate and complete projects efficiently.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Experience:?Must have experience as with Autobody painting with a minimum of 4 years in a similar role. (Red Seal preferred)
Technical Skills:?Proficient in various painting techniques, including color matching, blending, and application. Experience with different types of commercial vehicles is a plus.
Knowledge:?Understanding of paint properties, drying times, and environmental conditions affecting the painting process.
Attention to Detail:?Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality finishes.
Safety Awareness:?Strong commitment to safety protocols and guidelines in a workshop environment.
Physical Stamina:?Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform physically demanding tasks.
Problem-Solving Skills:?Ability to troubleshoot and solve issues related to paint application and finishing.
