Flynn Canada Ltd. is currently recruiting skilled Roofing Superintendent (commercial) to fill 2 F/T vacancies in the Toronto and surrounding area (6435 Northwest Drive, Mississauga, Ontario, L4V 1K2). Other locations across Ontario will be required based on awarded projects.
The position of “Roofing Superintendent” is a skilled role, in which the Roofing Superintendent provides the overall on-site administrative and technical management for a project, while ensuring the total constructive efforts are in accordance with the plans and specifications and are communicated to all parties involved.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress
- Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements,
- Establish and implement policies and procedures for quality control
- Prepare reports, Purchase general and specialized equipment, materials or
- business services, Supervise workers and projects
- Recruit, hire and supervise staff and/or volunteers, Read blueprint, schemas and drawings,
- Help with scheduling and workflow
- Maintain inventory of supplies
- Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures, Maintain inventory of equipment
- Manage difficult situations with customers
- Monitor safety conditions and maintain on-call status 24 hours per day, 7 days a week
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years Previous experience in a Construction environment/Roofing knowledge is required
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required

- Display excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to pay strong attention to detail and strong communication skills
- Form and maintain customer relations; in person, through email, and over the phone
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, stay organized, and perform in a deadline-oriented environment
- Reliable and strong problem-solving skills
- Work independently as well as in a team-based environment
- Work in a fast-paced environment
- Display strong knowledge of relevant computer applications (Microsoft
- Office)
- First Aid Certificate, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System
- (WHMIS) Certificate, Fall Arrest Protection Training Course
Terms of Employment:
- $43.00 - $54.00 per hour, depending on qualifications (starting wage for meeting minimum requirements is $43.00, wage scale increases based on additional experience)
- Permanent full time at 40 hours a week. Overtime after 44 hours, paid at time and a half;
- Extended Medical, Dental, Accidental Death & Disability Insurance, Life Insurance, as well as optional Registered Retirement Savings Plan & Deferred Profit Sharing Plan with company contribution up to $2500 annually.
- 3 weeks (15 days) for vacation
