TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare and cook a wide variety of Indian dishes in line with Manna Foods’ commitment to authentic and high-quality Indian cuisine.
Mix and prepare traditional Indian spice blends, marinades, chutneys, and sauces using Manna’s proprietary recipes and methods to ensure consistency in flavour and aroma.
Operate specialized Indian cooking equipment such as tandoors, steamers, kadais, and commercial ovens; ensure all equipment is maintained and functioning efficiently.
Follow standardized recipes and portioning guidelines to maintain product consistency across all retail-ready packaged meals and food items.
Support production line prep tasks such as chopping vegetables, grinding masalas, preparing curry bases, stuffing pastries, and portioning meals for packaging.
Maintain strict hygiene and cleanliness standards in the kitchen and food production areas in compliance with food safety regulations and Manna Foods’ internal quality protocols.
Monitor the freshness and quality of ingredients, with a focus on authentic Indian spices, herbs, lentils, and produce; report and discard any items that do not meet quality standards.
Assist in inventory management by tracking daily ingredient usage and alerting supervisors when stock levels of key Indian ingredients are low.
Practice safe food handling, storage, and labelling, especially when preparing items for retail sale, to ensure shelf stability and food safety.
Work collaboratively with production and kitchen staff to meet daily and weekly targets, particularly during peak order and festival seasons.
Stay informed on evolving trends in Indian regional cuisine to contribute ideas for new products and seasonal specials.
Prerequisites:
Education: Secondary school or equivalent.
Experience & Skills: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
Language: English
Annual Salary; $53,300 to $56,000 for 30 to 40 Hours per week
Starting Date: As soon as possible
