As a Land Survey Technologist, you’ll support our survey teams in carrying out varied technical tasks. While qualifications are an asset, we seek an undeterred drive above all else. Successful candidates will relish the opportunity to work in all environments, whether in a large project, a small crew, or individually.

RESPONSIBILITIES
To provide some idea of the task you may be performing, a list of responsibilities may include:
• Executing field projects according to instructions provided by the client, project manager and the field supervisor with minimal supervision;
• Site boundary and topographic survey operations;
• Establishment of control networks;
• Earthwork related survey operations including staking for excavation, backfill and cross sections for support of earthwork quantity calculations;
• Commodity related operations including layout of form work, pre-placement verification, anchor bolts, rebar, etc. during concrete placements;
• Steel erection operations, including recording of anchor bolt locations, setting of shim packs, and plumb check of structural steel during erection;
• Collecting and recording required as-built data;
• Collaborate with our Team in applying and improving the work process;
• Provide technical guidance to surveyors and helpers;
• Participating in the organization and management of project resources and;
• Maintain and develop client relationships.

QUALIFICATIONS
While qualifications help with finding suitable individuals, at CAP we believe we can also teach some of the skills needed for this position, provided you have the right attitude:
• 3 years+ related experience required for starting Intermediate Crew Chief. 5 years of related experience for starting Senior Crew Chief;
• A Degree or Diploma in Geomatics or Surveying or Engineering degree preferred;
• Strong computer skills;
• Proficient in the use of survey field equipment including total stations, GPS and data collectors;
• Ability to execute surveys in an accurate, efficient, thorough and safe manner;
• Ability to work in a service orientated, customer focused organization;
• Experience with environmental site and risk assessment an asset
• Autonomous and organized
• Good judgement and analysis capacity
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills
• A valid Class 5 driver’s license.
